Sacrifice
Behold, now it is called today until the coming of the Son of Man, and verily it is a day of sacrifice, and a day for the tithing of my people; for he that is tithed shall not be burned at his coming. For after today comes the burning—this is speaking after the manner of the Lord—for verily I say, tomorrow all the proud and they that do wickedly shall be as stubble; and I will burn them up, for I am the Lord of Hosts; and I will not spare any that remain in Babylon. Wherefore, if you believe me, you will labor while it is called today. For, behold, I will bless all those who labor in my vineyard with a mighty blessing (for) I, the Lord, have spoken it. Verily I say unto you, all those who know their hearts are honest, and are broken, and their spirits contrite, and are willing to observe their covenants by sacrifice—yea, every sacrifice which I, the Lord, shall command—they are accepted of me.
And whoso lays down his life in my cause, for my name's sake, shall find it again, even life eternal. And every one that has forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he has, he cannot be my disciple.
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God. To this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at my word. (Just as) Adam was obedient unto the commandments of the Lord. And after many days an angel of the Lord appeared unto Adam, saying: Why do you offer sacrifices unto the Lord? And Adam said unto him: I know not, save the Lord commanded me. (Wherefore Adam) did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.
I Beseech you therefore, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, and count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus. (Yea,) offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord
And…be not afraid of your enemies, for I have decreed in my heart, saith the Lord, that I will prove you in all things, whether you will abide in my covenant, even unto death, that you may be found worthy. And if you should be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon you; if you be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against you; if fierce winds become your enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after you, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.
And now, my beloved brethren, I would that you should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord lives you will be saved.

LIGHT
Light
JST John 1:1 - 4 In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word, and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God. The same was in the beginning with God. In him was the gospel, and the gospel was the life, and the life was the light of men. Genesis 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: D&C 50:24 (Because) that which is of God is light; and he that receives light, and continues in God, receives more light; and that light grows brighter and brighter until the perfect day. D&C 88:40 For intelligence cleaves unto intelligence; wisdom receives wisdom; truth embraces truth; virtue loves virtue; light cleaves unto light
D&C 93:8 – 9 Therefore, in the beginning the Word was, for He was the Word, even the messenger of salvation—The light and the Redeemer of the world; the Spirit of truth, who came into the world, because the world was made by him, and in Him was the life of men and the light of men. Mosiah 16:9 He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death.
D&C 14:9 – 10 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, who created the heavens and the earth, a light which cannot be hid in darkness; Wherefore, I must bring forth the fullness of my gospel from the Gentiles unto the house of Israel. Ether 3:14 Behold, I am He who was prepared from the foundation of the world to redeem my people. Behold, I am Jesus Christ. I am the Father and the Son. In me shall all mankind have life, and that eternally, even they who shall believe on my name; and they shall become my sons and my daughters. D&C 84:45 – 46 For the word of the Lord is truth, and whatsoever is truth is light, and whatsoever is light is Spirit, even the Spirit of Jesus Christ. And the Spirit gives light to every man that cometh into the world; and the Spirit enlightens every man through the world, that hearkens to the voice of the Spirit.
John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 1 Nephi 17:13 I will also be your light in the wilderness; and I will prepare the way before you, if it so be that you shall keep my commandments; wherefore, inasmuch as you shall keep my commandments you shall be led towards the promised land; and you shall know that it is by me that you are led.
3 Nephi 18:16 Behold I am the light; I have set an example for you John 13:15 that you should do as I have done. 1 Thessalonians 5:5 You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: you are not of the night, nor of darkness. 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light: 3 Nephi 15:12 You are my disciples; Acts 13:47 (therefore) I have set you to be a light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
Isaiah 60:1 – 3 Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen upon you. And the Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. D&C 86:11 Therefore, blessed are you if you continue in my goodness, a light unto the Gentiles, and through this priesthood, a savior unto my people Israel.
Matthew 5:14 – 16 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father, which is in heaven.
Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light. John 3:21 (For) he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Psalms 112:4 Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness: Proverbs 4:18 (and) the path of the just is as the shining light, that shines more and more unto the perfect day.
Ecclesiastes 11:7 Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun: Psalms 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Micah 7:7 – 9 Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me. I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, until He plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: He will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold His righteousness.
